This is one of the first paintings I did after we moved to Mexico over three years ago. And I didn’t finish it until six months ago. I didn’t know why I was painting it or what it meant. Then one day while we were out driving my girls yelled – "mom it’s your painting" and sure enough on the side of the highway stood a giant and I mean giant mural painted on a rock similar to this – freakishly similar. Not sure if I had seen it before I started the painting but this new unfamiliar place was having an impact on me visually whether I realized it or not. I love this place – Mexico – and I love this piece.
